Some facts about the Knights you may not know:
From the moment of our founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus. We are Catholic men of faith and men devoted to charitable action.
Our charitable activities encompass an almost infinite variety of local, national and international projects. The Knight’s unique charities include the Christian Refugee Relief Fund, Disaster Relief, Ultrasound Initiative, and Coats for Kids, to name just a few. In partnership with other organizations like the Global Wheelchair Mission, Habitat for Humanity, and the Special Olympics we are able to participate in major programs around the nation and the globe.
Here at Holy Spirit we have been involved with these and other local projects like the Midnight Run, the annual Life Chain in Mt. Kisco, the yearly March for Life in Washington DC, movie tickets for the veterans at Montrose Veterans Hospital, and financial help for seminarians at Dunwoody. In addition, for the last two years we have sponsored the parish’s Men’s Day of Reflection right here in the PAC. This event is open to all men in the parish and surrounding area. Also we have provided Pancake Breakfasts after Mass, the Columbus/St. Joseph dinner, and the parish picnic.
Membership in the Knights requires only that you be a practicing Catholic man at least 18 years of age and the enrollment process has been streamlined so you can join right on line in about 10 minutes. At www.KofC.org you can get answers to all of your questions and also join us immediately. If you still would like to speak with some one in the parish the list below may contain the name of someone you already know. If not, the rectory office can provide contact information to a Knight right here in the parish.
There are nearly 2 million men currently in the Knight’s, but there is always room for one more man who feels the need to serve others
